Sonoma County Preserves 2006

Temescal Amity Works was invited to participate in exhibitions, panels and group shows circulating in both art and urban lifestyle contexts.  For Hybrid Fields we staged a preserved food contest that brought local residents into the museum who might normally have never visited. Contestants were asked to enter both a preserve and a related story for considered in the competition. A team of judges included a local radio show host, an antiquarian cookbook dealer/conceptual artist and a SF Art dealer/multiples collector.  The judging and tasting event was open to the public and contestants. The winning preserve was acquisitioned in the museum's permanent collection.
