Walking Performance on the tidal shore of the San Francisco Bay
Slide film and viewers
Driving on highway 80 along the east shore my eye was naturally drawn to the shifting shore line and the shopping carts
that would appear at low tide, debris dropped off by a regional creek that spills into the San Francisco Bay. The shopping carts, covered with barnacles and decaying in salt water, were a symbol of the disaster of late capitalism and our own predicament as it's objects as perpetual consumers. Snow shoes made the journey. Thank you Annette Goodfriend and Barney Haines.
