Citrus Marmalade and Other Backyard Hedge Funds 2007
Day of Demonstrations In conjunction with Allison Smith’s Notion Nanny exhibition at UC Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive, Berkeley, California
Skill sharing and dialogue with a diverse coterie of artists, artisans, and craftspeople. This guild of makers takes a variety of approaches to vital questions of the “traditional” and the “revolutionary” as applied to the politics and practice of crafts-based traditions, variously using the handmade as a way of “making a better world,” or as a gesture of resistance to express political beliefs or to explore issues of identity, subjectivity, and labor. (Allison Smith)
Temescal Amity Works made marmalade from local citrus trees for participants to take home.
